Commissioned for the 6th Biennale of Jerusalem, “Tzimtzum” or ״צמצום״

In her collage series, Benjamin leverages the liberty of assembly to fuse imagery from her upbringing in Jerusalem with scenes from her life in New York, a city that, despite its saturated ambiance, remains impersonal and to her. Her endeavor to coalesce these two distinct worlds highlights her exploration of diaspora life’s longing, a theme recurrent in her broader body of work.
